What it is...
The Sauna Studio is a robust two-story wooden building located in a beautiful stand of cedar trees just behind our main farm house. The light filled studio is on the top floor and the sauna is on the ground floor with an ample deck for private relaxing and outdoor shower.
The studio is perfect for a single person stay or a couples retreat. The studio is small (~250 sq ft) but it has everything you need for a rustic retreat: heat and hot water, kitchenette with fridge, sink, ceramic hotplate, cookware, and dishes; desk/table and chairs queen size bed with plush memory foam mattress; deluxe composting toilet on the deck right outside the front door; wifi and electric heat to supplement the ambient heat created by the sauna below. There is also a fold out couch, which can also sleep another two people, for a total of four people max.
The sauna is the heart and soul of the space. It is simple and spacious, custom built of cedar harvested from the farm property. The sauna is heated by a large, top loading wood stove that is easy to ignite and stoke. There is an unlimited amount of firewood on the deck and we will gladly get the stove going for you before your arrival if you give us a heads-up with your timing. There is also a simple outdoor shower on the deck. No cold plunge as of this writing, but we are working on finding just the right tub!
The regular rate for booking the sauna studio is $110 for one night and $90 for each additional night. No additional fees or costs. We also offer a weekly rate of $450. Since we don't charge a cleaning fee, we just ask that you take good care of the space and do your best to clean it when you leave.
